In JP3, the raptor pack was led by Alpha Female and Alpha Male and the special effects used for the JP3 Velociraptors were a mixture of animatronics and CGI. The portrayal of several dinosaurs differs from that of the previous two films.
Inspired by the pair of velociraptor stop-motion puppets used for video animatics in the production which made by animator and effects artist Phil Tippett.
